The City helps everyone in our church stay engaged in daily life and ministry. It’s a group-oriented social network that’s all about helping your church build deeper community and extend the love of Christ to the world.
Oh. You mean it’s like Facebook? Well, kind of…but not really. Using powerful communication tools and email integration, the City allows people to stay connected to one another as well as enable individuals to build real relationships and engage in ministry and mission 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Not only does the City encourage and enable connections, it also offers personal growth tools, prayer tools and more. Plus, it works with mobile devices. What does the City do? Watch this video for an overview!
Who uses the City?
The City is for every member, regular attender, first-time guest, deployed military, pastoral staff, leader, ministry team, and Small Group at BCC – yes, EVERYONE! The City offers tools for individual spiritual growth, personal connections, community life, small group support, ministry teams, leadership community and more! Basically, for every group and every relationship – the City provides support.
I’m new. Should I use the City?
Absolutely! In fact, the City is the perfect place for you to begin connecting to our community. On the City you can meet people, browse small groups, look at ministry opportunities and even interact with church leaders.
In fact, some groups and teams use the City exclusively for communication because of it’s usefulness. If you would like to participate with some groups, the City will be the primary method for communication.
Isn’t this just one more thing to do?
No. The City isn’t an activity to do, it’s a tool to use to engage in intentional relationships. Since most people use email, the City will integrate into everyday life without too much effort. Users can read and reply to almost any posting from the City right from your email inbox! There ARE great features and tools that do require logging in, such as the Marketplace, personal Growth section, God Stories, and of course, searching people and groups, but basic communication is mostly email based.
